Archaeological\u00a0Park\u00a0of\u00a0Tip\u00f3n<\/h1>

Again the Inca culture gives us another representation of its engineering; we can observe it in the Archaeological Park of Tip\u00f3n because from that place it shows us the relationship of man with water, its role as an agricultural laboratory, and without a doubt its impressive hydraulic engineering technology.<\/p>

An achievement to be able to transport the water from natural springs, with both horizontal and vertical channels skillfully built, as well as the use of the aqueduct that crosses a ravine to shorten the distance with its entire irrigation system.<\/p>

What you didn’t know about Tipon<\/h2>

The Archaeological Park of Tip\u00f3n has received the title of Wonder of Civil Engineering.\u00a0By the important Association of Civil Engineers of the United States.<\/p>

The name Tip\u00f3n comes from the Quechua origin of T\u00edmpuj which means, to be boiling.\u00a0Which alludes to the fact that it makes water sprout from the fountains.\u00a0It makes it look as if the liquid is boiling.<\/p>

It is one of the resorts located in the southern valley of Cusco, finding it in the District of Oropeza, at a distance of 21km from the imperial city of Cusco<\/a>.<\/p>

Its location is about 3500 to 4000msnm, the extension is 239 hectares.<\/p>

Most outstanding sectors in the Archaeological Park of Tip\u00f3n<\/h2>

The most outstanding areas are the platforms or canals: a<\/strong> total of 13 platforms were built in a shallow ravine, with their respective aqueducts and irrigation system.\u00a0The platforms are excellent in the lace of the stones and the quality of the stroke.\u00a0In addition, they could be used for special crops and agricultural research.<\/p>

Next, it can be deduced that Tip\u00f3n was able to experiment with agricultural irrigation techniques, based on artificial irrigation, the origin of the waters that run through the canals and end up in fountains and sewers.<\/p>

Main Source: <\/strong>the characteristic thing is that the main channel forks form two waterfalls that then come together in a Y-shape, then when joined again, they are divided into 4 waterfalls, in which they can represent the duality of the Andean world, and the four partitions would represent the Inca Suyu.<\/p>

The function of the complex is believed to have been to perform ceremonies to sacralize the water before fertilizing mother earth or the Pachamama.<\/p>

Sinkuna kancha: <\/strong>it is considered a fortified neighborhood or the security center of Tip\u00f3n where about 50 people lived, therefore, it is characterized by rectangular enclosures by courtyards and niches of trapisondear shape.<\/p>

Intiwatana:\u00a0<\/strong>it is located at a higher elevation of height on a mountainous elevation that protects the whole set, it deals with ceremonial structures where religion went hand in hand with astronomy.\u00a0In turn, the windows and niches have alignments with the sunrise and sunset;\u00a0on solstice and equinox.<\/p>

Aqueduct:\u00a0<\/strong>it is 60 meters long with a height of 4.6 meters, it had the purpose of capturing and transporting the waters of the apocar\u00e1 river to irrigate the low areas of Tip\u00f3n.<\/p>

Wall:\u00a0<\/strong>it was built to protect the enclosure from the constant wars that were carried out in these times.<\/p>

Mirador or Cruzmoqo:\u00a0<\/strong>it is located in the northern part of the park, from its location you can see the imperial city of Cusco, the water that feeds the entire hydraulic system of Tip\u00f3n, has as its main source, the underground spring emerges from this mountain.<\/p>
