Classic Inca Trail 4D3N

DAY 1: CUSCO – PISKACUCHO – WAYLLABAMBA

We will transfer by private bus from the hotel to Piskacucho, at Km. 82 of the Cusco – Machu Picchu railway. On the way to Piskacucho, we will pass through the towns of Chinchero, Urubamba, and Ollantaytambo, emblematic towns of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Once at our destination, we will start our trek.

Then we will have lunch in Hatunchaca, where we will rest before restarting our tour, heading towards the overnight and camping site in Wayllabamba. Here we will have dinner and spend the night.

Lunch: Lunch / Dinner.

Length: 12 Km (7.47 mi.).

Walk: 5-6 hours.

Point of maximum altitude: 3000 m. (9840 ft).

Camp altitude: 3000 m. (9840 ft).

DAY 2: WAYLLABAMBA – WARMIWAÑUSCA – PAQAYMAYU

After a hearty breakfast, we will start the hike to the highest point of the Inca Trail. In this tour we will be able to observe different microclimates, going from the rainforest of Yuncachimpa to the puna of Warmiwañusca (4200 m.a.s.l.m). We will cross this step after a break and then continue walking to the Paqaymayu sector, where we will have lunch and set our second camp.

Food: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner.

Length: 11 Km. (684 mi.).

Walk: 6-7 hours.

Point of maximum altitude: 4200 m. (13776 ft.).

Camp altitude: 3500 m. (11480 ft.)

DAY 3: PAQAYMAYU – CHAQUICOCHA – WIÑAYWAYNA

After breakfast, we will visit the archaeological complex of Runkurakay and we will have a 45-minute tour to the second mountain pass (3850 m.a.s.l.m). Then we will descend to the archaeological complex of Sayacmarca and then we will restart the walk towards Phuyupatamarca. There we will have lunch and rest briefly before continuing our way to Wiñay Wayna. Upon arrival, we will visit the archaeological complex of the same name and enjoy some free time before dinner.

Food: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner.

Length: 16 Km. (9,94 mi.).

Walk: 8 hours.

Point of maximum altitude: 3,900 m. (12,792 ft).

Camp altitude: 2,650 m. (8,692 ft).

DAY 4: WIÑAYWAYNA – MACHUPICCHU – CUSCO

After breakfast, we will walk to the Inti Punku sector, from where we will have an amazing view of the majestic citadel of Machu Picchu. We will then enter the citadel and check-in at the checkpoint, and then take a guided tour of approximately two hours. Later we will descend by bus to the town of Aguas Calientes to finally board the train to Cusco. We will be waiting for you at the destination station to take you to your hotel.

Lunch: Breakfast.

Length: 4 Km. (2,49 mi.).

Walk: 2 hours.

Point of maximum altitude: 2700 m. (8829 ft.).

Altitude – Machu Picchu : 2400 m (7872 ft).
